Avalanche Mountain Fat & Flurrious Fat Tire Race
Mark your calendar for the Fast and Flurrious Fat Tire Bike Race at Avalanche Mountain Preserve, Saturday, January 20th.
The race is being organized by Mike Cortright and North Country Cycle Sport and also involves Stiggs Brewery and Kitchen, which will be celebrating its first anniversary that day. The course is 6 or 10 (Sport & Open Class) miles on the professionally-designed and built singletrack at Avalanche Mountain. This will be the most challenging Fat Tire Bike Race in the Lower Peninsula.
There will be a pre-race brunch at Stigg's from 7 - 9:00 am. The race starts at 10:00 am and the award ceremony will be at 6:30 pm at Stigg's.
Proceeds from the race will benefit the Top Of Michigan Mountain Bike Association, the group that spearheaded a major expansion of trails at Avalanche over the past couple of years.
