Cartoon Network's "Move It Movement" Tour 2011 will arrive at Boyne Mountain on Saturday, July 23.
This fun-filled event encourages youth to get active and stay active. Fun stations for kids and families with exciting physical activities include a Skate Park Challenge, Soccer Shootout Challenge, Cartoon Network Chill Zone, Crayola Outdoor Challenge and much more. The outdoor activities will take place from 2pm - 6 pm.
This is a free event.
Local farmers and crafters fill Veterans Park in Boyne City every Wednesday and Saturday from May until October.
You will find almost anything for your table and home, handmade and homegrown.
Boyne Area Chamber of Commerce
What began 80 years ago as a simple candle-lit boat parade has grown into a week-long flurry of color and pageantry that highlights the summer season and attracts tens of thousands of visitors.
The Festival offers a wonderful variety of events geared to delight and entertain every age group. Most events take place within waterfront parks, Round Lake Harbor and Lake Charlevoix.
Venetian Festival
The Petoskey Film Theater will be showing the critically-acclaimed, French film "Of Gods and Men" on Friday, July 22 at the Petoskey District Library, Carnegie Building ( 451 E. Mitchell St.).
The film was awarded Grand Prix honors at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, this compelling historical drama relates teh ordeal fo seven French Trappist monks in the mountains of Algeria who are taken captive by Islamic fundamentalists. These French Christian monks lived in harmony with their Muslim borthers perched in the mountains of North Africa in the 1990s. When a crew of foreign workers is massacred by an Islamic fundamentalist group, fear sweeps through the region. The army offers them protection, but the monks refuse. Should they leave? Despite the growing menace in their midst, they slowly realize that they have no choice but to stay...come what may.

Have you always wanted to try your hand at painting? These adult classes, taught by noted local artist June Storm, use a step-by-step paint along method which students of all levels find fun and easy to follow. Even if this is your first time painting, you will leave with a piece and an experience that brings you pride. Registration and our meeting point is at Solace Spa at Boyne Mountain. Allow the nature of northern Michigan to bring inspiration and creativity to your watercolor experience. Use of art supplies is included. Artist June Storm serves as a Board Member of the Boyne Arts Collective. She is actively involved in community arts and is a member of the Gaylord Area Council for the Arts, Crooked Tree Arts Center, Traverse City Arts Center, and the Jordan River Arts Council. She has studied at the Flint Institute of Arts along with individual direction from many noted artists that include Joe Green, Vicki Frapper, Tamar Aldrich, Cheng-Khee Chee, Helga Flower, Judi Betts, Charles Murphy, Catherine Carey, Steve Rogers, and Pierre BIttar. She is asked to participate in invitationals each year and has numerous award winning pieces in her portfolio.

BOYNE
Guest instructor and artist Ken Bonfield will hold a guitar workshop at the Crooked Tree Arts Center. Bonfield is a self-taught finger-style guitarist who composes and performs original instrumental guitar music.
The Workshop is suited for intermediate and advanced players, and the content will be student driven. Bring your music to share and to learn from a different perspective of teaching. The class will take place on the stage at Crooked Tree Arts Center. Cost is $45 for members and $65 for non-members. All ages are welcome. Register online at www.crookedtree.org
