Join the Young Professionals Off-Duty, YPODs, for the kick-off event of the Learning Luncheon Series, hosted by the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce. The event will be held at the Perry Hotel in the Resort Room from Noon until 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 9th.

The Learning Luncheon Series is designed to bring the area's young professionals together to enjoy the company of their peers, a discussion on a relevant topic and a delicious meal.

This month's featured speaker will be Ann Chastain, County Extension Director of Emmet County MSU Extension. The focus of Ann's Luncheon discussion will be "How to Implement More Effective Committee Meetings." She will focus on the six basic principles of committee management, including responsibilities of all committee members, aspects of effective decision making and suggestions to improve committee meeting attendance. She will also introduce tools for evaluating the effectiveness of existing committees as well as defining roles and responsibilities of committee members.

The entry fee for the event includes the cost of your meal (soup, sandwich, dessert) and is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Payment will be accepted at the event, but reservations are required. Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance of the event or the party responsible for the reservation will be charged. Connecting Women in Business Upcoming Luncheon - Tuesday, September 9, 2008, Featuring Wendy Komac.

Komac's presentation is “The Elevator to Success is Out of Order: Use Steps.” 
Komac is Senior Vice President of Global Business Development for Prudential Relocation. She has a history of successfully implementing and motivating global sales teams to become multi-million dollar industry leaders. She is also a motivational speaker who has presented to thousands of sales teams and leadership executives.
