In partnership with the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, CTAC-Petoskey presents Kindred: Traditional Arts of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians. Historic and contemporary examples of Odawa arts and crafts will be on display, including quill boxes, beadwork, regalia, basketry, and ceramics. Through these finely crafted objects, thematic threads are woven together to explore the economic drivers, environmental factors, and challenges inherent in sustaining tradition, creative practice, and identity. This exhibition was curated by Eric Hemenway and Liz Erlewine.
Join us each Thursday at 10 am for a free educational program connected with the exhibition.
Guided gallery tours are available for this exhibition. Contact us at boxoffice@crookedtree.org to schedule a tour.
This exhibition was made possible thanks to support from Michigan Humanities, the Petoskey Harbor Springs Community Foundation, Women Who Care, Odawa Casino, and the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians.
All CTAC-Petoskey visual arts exhibitions are made possible thanks to our Visual Arts Presenter, North Harbor Christie's International Real Estate.
