Join personal trainer and fitness instructor Tyra Fortson for her fantastic summer fitness classes at the farm.  Her classes are great for all fitness levels and will offer whole body training in a positive, encouraging, and motivating atmosphere. Let’s start our mornings out strong and healthy, moving our bodies in a beautiful setting.
Zumba/Tone A type of dance fitness that has been around since the 1990s. It is the backbone of the dance fitness craze and incorporates a variety of Latin-inspired and pop dance moves with music to promote a healthy heart as well as a healthy dose of aerobic activity.  Zumba is a fun and exciting way to build and tone muscle, improve cardio, promote flexibility, and decrease stress. Zumba/Tone gives you the best of both worlds incorporating both dance and toning exercises to get you feeling great and in shape. All levels of fitness are welcome. Low and high impact modifications are given.  The first half of class will be Zumba dancing. The second half will be resistance and weight training. A great all in one class for both cardio and toning.
 
WHEN: Weekly, Every Thursday 9-10am – First Class is June 17th Last Class is August 19th
AGES:  15 & up.
COST: $15 per class – Cash, Check, & Cash App accepted

All sessions are outdoors – If raining class will be cancelled
 
PLEASE BRING: Water bottle, light hand weights (2-5 pounds), a mat or towel as needed, your tennis shoes, and your dance moves!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Hi, my name is Tyra Fortson. I am so excited to join the Lavender Hill Fitness teaching team this coming summer. I am currently an art teacher and fitness instructor down state and have been teaching art for fifteen years and fitness for four years. I recently completed my personal training through ISSA and have taught many style fitness classes including Zumba, Weight training, Better Backs Yoga, Cardio Interval variety classes, Barre, Power Barre, Spin, Stretch, Cardio drumming, HIIT, and Bootcamp. I have been given the blessing of being able to spend the past ten summers and much free time in the Charlevoix area, and I love being in northern Michigan and the beauty of our surroundings. I spend a lot of time outdoors enjoying many activities, with friends, family, and community and have always had strong passion for fitness, health, and wellbeing both physically and emotionally throughout one’s life.
SAFETY FIRST. To ensure the safety of our guests and staff, we ask that everyone wear face masks when inside our facilities, participating in artisan classes, or within close range to others. We are actively taking steps to keep our farm as clean and as safe as possible and greatly appreciate your cooperation. We are operating in accordance with CDC guidelines.
